Innocent is a Sustainable Energy & Climate Fellow (Atlas Corps) with the United Nations Foundation. He obtained a BS in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and MS in Agriculture & Resource Management from University of Bonn, Germany. He observed energy poverty among rural farmers while serving as Associate Impact Specialist with IITA-STCP Nigeria covering Ondo, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Edo and Cross Rivers states. He interned at the Agreement and Policy Unit of UNEP-CMS Bonn, Germany and has acquired international diplomatic skills from Model United Nations Conferences such as: Committee on Sustainable Development (BIMUN-Bonn, Germany), Economic and Social Council (OXIMUN-Oxford, UK.) and Governing Council of UNEP (GIMUN-Geneva, Switzerland.) He has been involved in energy programmatic activities across different continents: Canada, Morocco and the United States. His professional experience in project management and design, monitoring and evaluation has provided him visionary leadership in developing climate/energy-smart agricultural projects for sub-Saharan Africa countries. He is interested in researching appropriate policies and modern technologies with potentials of ensuring sustainable best practice(s) for a nexus between energy, agricultural development and water efficiency. He is committed to contributing to global energy poverty alleviation and sustainable economic development.
